Boston Human Trafficking Unit is located in the Family Justice Center of Boston at 989 Commonwealth Avenue. The Boston Police are the lead Law enforcement entity of the Boston Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force which was funded in January 2005 as one of 42 task forces funded by the United States Justice Department. These Task Force funds were awarded to major cities and states throughout the nation. We combat trafficking by:
- rescuing and supporting victims;
- investigating human traffickers;
- prosecuting human traffickers and those that conspire with them.
The Task Force has a two -pronged approach: Investigations that focus on International victims and Commercial Sexual exploitation of Children(CSEC).
